Parenting and the Four F’s
I don’t know about anyone else, but parenting has me using the F word a lot more since before becoming a parent (under my breath, of course – mostly).
To help me deal with the F-word-inducing beautiful life I live, I like to categorize my present life into four nicer F words:
π#1 Family
(Feeling Blessed)
Well, this one is obvious, right?

π#2 Fun
This is what everyone dreams about while that belly bump slowly grows month after month.
Along with family being a big part of parenting young kids, so does FUN. This is the joys you see on social media. Pumpkin patches and vacations with little ones. Christmas morning through a child’s eyes. Passing down traditions you had growing up and creating new ones with your own family. Getting to relive childhood again, but in a different, more rewarding (and exhausting :)) way.

π#3 Fitness
Being active has always been a part of my life, and without exercise, I definitely would not feel like a complete human being.
In order to enjoy all of this wonderful FUN and FAMILY stuff, there has to be a little bit of hard work involved. Exercise is great for my physical health but is PROFOUND for my mental health. Especially after having kids! It also allows me to play and keep up with my active little boys who are always on the move.

π #4 F***ing Hard Stuff
Well the real F word is still going to come out occasionally, OK?
Finally, the less blissful side of parenting. Not only is parenting great and wonderful, but it is also HARD. Parenting is by far more complicated and challenging than I thought it would be (said every parent ever). And if you haven’t said or thought that, congratulations on getting kids with extremely easy, go-with-the-flow, agreeable, non-kidlike genes. This is probably not the place for you π No really, I am very happy for you!
